ABSTRACT

Interviews for stage productions are not frequent events. Remember that in these meetings, not only are our prospective employers interviewing us, they also worrying about how we think they are coming across. This refers to meetings that do not include either actors reading of the script or their getting up and presenting a prepared piece, which probably means that the director already knows them, either personally or by reputation. It can occasionally happen in the theatre, and so they should be properly prepared. Often screen productions are cast by interview only. Sometimes the part actors are up for will have very little dialogue, so the director will cast by the results of an interview, rather than have you read the odd word or two. Maybe a few anecdotes will go down well, if they show your storytelling skills and comedic timing to an advantage.
