Definitely tape your show. Even if you are not planning ever to perform your monologue again, you should nonetheless have a friend or (even better) a professional camera operator tape it. Such a tape is an invaluable source of learning, and if you watch it repeatedly you will learn a great deal not only about how you personally perform, but also about the craft of monologuing in general.
