How should I begin my monologue?

I remember once hearing someone say, “Beginnings are extremely important, for it is from them that everything else follows.” The first words, sentences, and paragraphs of your monologue do a great many things. They give the audience a first impression of you as both a performer and writer. They also set the tone of your monologue and establish an initial rhythm and subject matter.
