ABSTRACT

In recent years information professionals have paid more attention to issues of professional liability. There are many reasons for this, not least the increased value which has been placed upon ‘information’ generally. Librarians and information professionals (and I use the terms interchangeably in this chapter to encompass all professionals working within the information sector) are increasingly being relied upon for their skills and knowledge in this process.
