ABSTRACT
The law pervades every area of human activity: business, commerce, industry, central government and local authority operations, science, technology, and even the arts and humanities (for example, the law relating to entertainment, literary publication, defamation (libel and slander), the operation of museums, art galleries and libraries). It is highly likely that at some stage in the career of a LIS professional, he or she will need to trace or acquire information on the law.
