ABSTRACT

Whether or not someone sets about gathering and using information in response to a problem that requires additional information depends on a mixture of factors-some of which we have touched on already. The main ones that we will briefly deal with here are:

• the kind of job the person does; • the country/culture from which they come from; • the personality of the individual and their

information threshold; • their level of information awareness/training; • the gender of the person; • the age of the person; • time availability; • access • resources/costs; • information overload.
