ABSTRACT
The current legislative framework consists of The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 which came into force on 1 August 1989 supplemented by a number of statutory instruments which have been issued under the Act. (NB the list of statutory instruments given below is not a comprehensive list of the subsidiary legislation. Rather it is a list of the ones of most relevance to library and information professionals).
