ABSTRACT

The NHS Research and Development Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine was established in Oxford, UK, as the first of several centres whose aim is broadly to promote evidence-based practice and to provide support and resources. The Centre’s Web site provides a calendar of evidence-based health and other related events-conferences and meetings are listed by date with the title, venue and contact information. Other resources include teaching materials, a toolbox (discussed below), CATBank (a creation, storage and retrieval facility for Critically Appraised Topics), as well as links to other relevant sites. There are also links to other centres for evidence-based practice, such as the Centre for Evidence-Based Child Health and the Centre for Evidence Based Mental Health.
