ABSTRACT
The timely delivery of the correct type of artillery ammunition to the guns, at the right place, in the required quantity, is a factor that regulates artillery firepower, and has usually dictated the pace of battle. The supply of fuel and rations, and the maintenance of equipment, are also important considerations, but for the purpose of this study the supply of ammunition exemplifies the logistic problem.
