ABSTRACT
Obesity places a heavy social, health and ®nancial burden on our society. It has been estimated that obesity will bankrupt the UK's health service within the next ten years. Only recently have eating disorder specialists become interested in the management of obesity. It is beyond the remit of The Invisible Man to explore obesity in great depth, and this will be the subject of subsequent books. However, the overlap between anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating and obesity can be considerable.
