When you ®rst begin to develop a body image disorder, it is often one of many niggling problems in the back of your mind. However, it will start to loom larger and larger on your horizon, until it becomes the niggling problem, your constant preoccupation. Your thinking about body image can become so deeply ingrained that it is dif®cult to think about anything else at all. This can have an impact on your hobbies, friendships and work. You may begin to de®ne yourself purely in terms of how you think and feel about your body and its shape.
