ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter we distinguished between short-term memory and varieties of long-term memory. In the following sections we shall discover that the short-term store needs further differentiation to account for its flexibility in representing information in the short term. Later we shall turn to how knowledge is represented and organised in long-term memory.
