ABSTRACT
Migrants operate in a context of mistrust and insecurity and do not always have access to modern means of communication. In studying how information circulates among them, we may therefore uncover other ties of solidarity and forms of cooperation than those considered up to now. For, despite the separation, Hazaras in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran do communicate intensely with one another by telephone and letter.
