ABSTRACT

Once upon a time there were two sisters. One was rich, the other poor. The rich sister had a daughter who was ugly and unfriendly. The poor sister had two children, a son named Quaddaruni, and a daughter who was more beautiful than the moon and the sun. The poor sister went every morning to her rich sister to help her wash, cook, and sew. For all this work, the rich sister gave her leftovers from the meals that she later took to her children. Such was the miserable way she fed her children.
