ABSTRACT
Once upon a time there was a king and a queen who did not have any children and would very much liked to have had one. The queen had a special affection for Saint Francis of Paula, whom she revered. * So the queen prayed to him and implored him to let her have a child. She would call it Paul or Pauline. Not long thereafter the queen gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, whom she named Pauline.
