The many discussed case studies and included observations and conclusions lead to the conclusion that petroleum was formed in rock-compartments that contained the needed ingredients, namely, organic materials, porous rocks, and formation water. In the present chapter this conclusion is presented under the pressure-cooker model of petroleum formation.
