ABSTRACT
Each of the characters in a scene is given one or more ‘shadows’. These observers act as a spur to the characters by making suggestions regarding their attitude or action in the scene. For example, ‘touch them’, ‘turn away from them’, ‘kiss them’, ‘try to hurt them’, ‘be intrigued by them’, ‘bored by them’, ‘suspicious of them’, etc.
