In sung theatre the challenge of singing and acting simultaneously begins at the simplest level of activity. Here you must prepare the ground for the complex tasks of co-ordination that lie ahead. To give an idea of the challenge you face, try the following experiment. With your right hand trace a circle in the air. Then with your left hand trace a square. Now do both at the same time without loss of accuracy or fluidity.
