ABSTRACT

Millions of acres of corn (maize) and soybeans are grown on U.S. farms, and most of these farms plant both corn and soybeans. The two crops are complementary in terms of the timing of operations-soybeans may be planted later without yield loss, and they are usually ready for harvest earlier than is corn.
