ABSTRACT
This chapter is devoted to presenting an overview of QFT in order to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the power of the QFT technique which is presented in the following chapters. First presented is a discussion of why feedback is needed to achieve performance goals. This is followed by a QFT overview of design objectives, an explanation of structured parametric uncertainty, a design overview, and QFT basics and design. The last few sections are devoted to the insight provided by the QFT technique, and to the benefits of QFT.
