ABSTRACT

The QFT technique developed in Chapters 2 through 4 is based upon a MISO system structure having two or three external inputs and one output. In Chapter 5 it is shown that an mxm MIMO system can be represented by m3 MISO equivalent systems having a desired tracking input command, one cross-coupling effect input signal, and one output. Thus, the QFT design technique developed in Chapters 3 and 4 can now be applied, with the appropriate modifications indicated in Chapter 5, to the design of the m2 MISO equivalent systems. This chapter presents the details of the QFT Design Method 1, sensitivity analysis, and design performance trade-offs. The following chapter presents the details of the QFT Design Method 2.
