ABSTRACT

BPM Technology, Inc., in Greenville, SC developed ballistic particle manufacturing (BPM). There are only a few BPM systems on the market due to the collapse of the company in late 1997, however the patent is still held by the inventor at Stereology Research, Inc. in Easley, SC. The systems that are used are mainly for rapid prototyping (RP) research, or for concept verification models. Ballistic particle manufacturing was marketed as one of the most affordable RP processes at that time, with very inexpensive build materials.
