ABSTRACT
Since most of the rapid prototyping (RP) processes use a build material that either melts or burns away at high temperatures, rapid prototyped models can be directly used as investment-casting patterns. Investment casting is a highly used manufacturing process today, although it dates back to ancient origins. In the investmentcasting process, an expendable model, or investment, is used to create a metallic part that can then be used as hardware.
