ABSTRACT
The EOS process uses a powder build media, which is sintered in layers using a laser. The powder is spread across the build platen in thin passes, while the laser melts the cross-sectional shape of the part onto the previous slice. The process is repeated until the complete part has been sintered. Unlike SLS, the metals are not in a polymer matrix, and hence need no further burnout or infiltration.
