The act or forbearance must be done by the promisee with the agreement or assent of the promisee, that is, as part of an agreement or bargain between the parties.
A moral obligation to perform a promise does not constitute consideration for making it.27 Similarly, a promise is not binding because it was actuated by a worthy motive.28
