ABSTRACT

The pharmacist has historically been trained for and has concerns about human health matters. Animal health has in the past few years become more visible and should also be of interest to the pharmacist for the following reasons:

1. Economics-According to the Animal Health Institute’s (AHI) 2000 Domestic Sales Survey, sales of animal health products in the United States for 1999 totaled $4.32 billion priced at the manufacturer’s level [1].
