ABSTRACT
Although the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 was of great benefit to the tenant of an agricultural holding, landlords found the security of tenure provisions restrictive, and so contributing to a decline in the number of farms available to let, which had already reduced by nearly two-thirds since the beginning of the century.
