ABSTRACT
Helen died in March this year, a spinster aged 84. She had lived as a recluse for the last 20 years in a large house set in 30 acres of remote countryside. Her only companions were the housekeeper, Laura, and Eric, the estate manager, who also took care of all her financial matters. Helen had inherited the house together with its valuable paintings from her father.
