ABSTRACT
The CPR Pt 1 sets out the overriding objective of the new system established by the CPR. That overriding objective is to enable the courts to deal with matters justly, including, so far as practicable, endeavouring to ensure: • that the parties are on an equal footing; • proportionality with regard to:
• a fair and expeditious disposal of the case; and • the allocation of an appropriate share of the court’s resources while
taking into account the needs of other cases.
