ABSTRACT
Although many disputes among partners are settled informally, this is not always possible. A dispute may be taken to court, but a further alternative is to provide for some form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), such as arbitration, mediation or conciliation. Such procedures can be used to reach agreement on matters which arise during the currency of an agreement or as a means of allowing for a less destructive parting of the ways.
