Note that this power is far more useful to the Commonwealth as a tool for regulating commerce than the s 51(i) trade and commerce power, as the corporations power is not limited to inter-State matters. Furthermore, although only commercial activity conducted through the medium of corporations is covered by s 51(xx), the reality is that most commercial activity in Australia is conducted in that way, rather than by sole trading or partnerships.
