ABSTRACT
Where an initiating step, such as the issue of proceedings or the making of an application, has been taken in a case before 26 April 1999, in particular if it involves the use of forms and documents required by the previous rules, the case will proceed in the first instance under the previous rules. If a step is required in response to something done by the other party in accordance with the previous rules, it must also be taken in accordance with those rules (PD 51, para 3).
