ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a discussion of different methodologies used in the generation of ETDs. The comparative merits of the underlying technologies are outlined and their suitability for the ETD project explored. ETD-ML, a proposed universal markup language for creation of ETDs, is discussed and evaluated.
