ABSTRACT
The dramatic and continuing decrease in digital technology prices is encouraging institutions of widely varying size and funding levels to consider using digital library technology to manage multimedia collections. The ensuing technical attention has been focused on rapid, inexpensive document interchange, paying little attention to preserving documents for decades to centuries. This chapter examines long-term preservation of digital documents that include ETDs.
