B Reform

The first reforming law in 1971 sought to bring about a merger within the legal profession. It did so in two ways:

• The professions of avocat and avoué before the first instance courts were amalgamated and the functions of the former avoué before the first instance courts have now been subsumed within the profession of avocat.
