ABSTRACT
Very occasionally, a bladder can be obstructed by a urethral stricture. A urethral stricture is a fibrous contracture of the urethra. This arises from inflammation or trauma of the urethra. The principal symptom is a progressively impaired urinary stream. There are no physical signs. The diagnosis is made by endoscopy. The treatment of urethral stricture is either its incision, the operation of endoscopic urethrotomy, its regular dilatation or its reconstruction, the operation of urethroplasty.
