ABSTRACT
Equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice is a subject of great importance, both because of the existence of anti-discriminatory legislation and also in recognition of the multicultural nature of our society. This introduction briefly touches on general issues of equal opportunities as they affect mediation services, including legal obligations, moral aspects and issues concerning effectiveness, accessibility and empowerment.
