ABSTRACT
In limited circumstances, equity developed a number of exceptions to the general rule that, ‘equity will not perfect an imperfect gift’ and ‘equity will not assist a volunteer’. The effect of these exceptions is to permit a volunteer to perfect an imperfect gift or gain assistance from a court of equity despite being classified as a volunteer.
