ABSTRACT
Fisting, also called “handballing” or “fist fucking,” is the insertion of the hand, wrist, and even forearm of the active partner (fister) into the rectum and sigmoid colon of the passive partner (fistee). It is primarily a male-male activity, although lesbians and other women sometimes practice it both anally and vaginally. Fisting by an inexperienced or overenthusiastic partner can be dangerous, owing to risks of tearing internal tissues and of infection. Nonetheless, experienced practitioners claim it provides pleasure, fulfillment, and spiritual tranquillity.
