ABSTRACT
Too often typed as left-wing political propaganda, Marc Blitzstein’s musical and dramatic achievements were unjustly ignored in the period immediately following his death. A revival of interest in the 1980s and 1990s, however, has allowed a reassessment of Blitzstein as a major voice in American theater.
