Formalities under s 53(1)(c) of the Law of Property Act 1925

Section 53(1)(c) (substantially, but not completely, reflects the

terms of s 9 of the Statute of Frauds 1677) provides as follows:

A disposition of an equitable or trust subsisting at the time

of disposition must be in writing signed by the person

disposing of the same, or by his agent thereunto lawfully

authorised in writing or by will.
