ABSTRACT

Cathy Song, the poet, was born in Honolulu in 1955 where she makes her permanent home with her husband and two children. Her first book of poetry, “Picture Bride,” won the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award in 1982. one of the most prestigious literary awards for young poets in the United States. Published by Yale University Press in 1983 the book was nominated for a National Book Circle Award that same year. Her second book of poetry, “Frameless Windows, Squares of Light” (W.W.Norton) was published in 1988.
