ABSTRACT

Television advertising is defined as any type of broadcast message paid for by a public or a private undertaking in order to promote the supply of goods and services, including immovable property, rights and obligations. The regulations prohibit clandestine and comparative advertising, although there is currently a debate on whether comparative advertising is acceptable or not. In France, for instance, it is a burning issue, as some people think that this type of advertising promotes competition between traders. Nevertheless, comparative advertising is still prohibited in both Luxembourg and France.
