ABSTRACT

There are several Codes of Marketing Practice established by the International Chamber of Commerce, the stipulations of which are also applied to marketing in Finland.

The Code is designed primarily as an instrument for self-discipline, but it is also intended for use by the courts as a reference document within the framework of the appropriate laws. The Code applies to all advertisements for any goods, services and facilities, including corporate advertising. Therefore the Code contains general and widely applicable guidelines. The Code sets standards of ethical conduct to be followed by all concerned with advertising, whether advertisers, advertising practitioners or agencies, or media.
