ABSTRACT

The frequency with which Lance Henson and his work have been sought by editors, publishers, anthologists, and sponsors of readings and workshops here and in Europe offers more than adequate testimony that Lance Henson is the foremost Cheyenne poet now writing. In the literary circles of Indian country and in the few journals that notice contemporary American Indian literature, his critical reputation is secure. His books quickly sell out. Virtually all his readers and listeners like and admire the man and his poems, and want more of both.
