ABSTRACT
The subject may be understood as concerned with: (1) ideas or images of women, or of a supposed female principle, in theories or traditions of natural philosophy; (2) relations between large numbers of women, or women generally, and science or natural philosophy; and (3) particular activities of noteworthy individual women in relation to systems or projects of natural philosophy, their own or those of others.
