ABSTRACT
Memory disorder is of the utmost significance in medico-legal psychiatric practice. It is one of the most sensitive indicators of brain damage or dysfunction, and often the deciding factor in the diagnosis of cerebral disease. Yet it also occurs, or appears to occur, when there is no such disease.
