Describing itself as ‘somewhat concerned’ to hear that in 1989 only 361 MPs had used the services of the Commissioner, in December 1990 the Select Committee reported that it ‘suspected’ that some MPs were not using the Office because of a ‘lack of knowledge of his exact role and powers’.23
