ABSTRACT
These may present with some of the following features: • pleuritic type chest pain; • coughing of blood; • breathlessness; • fever; • there may be a pleural friction rub on listening to the chest. Massive or smaller pulmonary emboli may be associated with signs of peripheral deep vein thrombosis, but this is no means universal.
