ABSTRACT
JANICE M. ALBERGHENE is Professor of English at Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts. Her essays on children's literature focus on E. B. White and Alcott, among others. She is on the editorial boards of Children's Literature and The Children's Literature Association Quarterly and is currently at work on a book-length project on African-American children's literature.
